Single-bolt & two-bolt options

Push on.
Tighten. Keep moving.

We carry single-bolt and two-bolt push-on grooved couplings for straightforward assembly, without taking the coupling housing apart first.

Keep the parts together, bring the prepared grooved ends into position, then secure the connection using the product’s installation requirements.

Sold separately for additions and replacements. Purchase individual couplings and grooved fittings to expand an existing system or replace a component—no complete system purchase required.

01 / SINGLE-BOLT

One bolt.
Less hardware to tighten.

A practical option for many standard aluminum air-piping installations. The push-on design keeps the housing together, while a single tightening point simplifies assembly.

02 / TWO-BOLT

Two bolts.
Added support for heavier pipe.

We use two-bolt couplings where heavier pipe needs added support at the joint. The coupling and hanger arrangement are selected together to help support the pipe’s weight and keep the installation secure—all with the convenience of a push-on connection.

Pressure ratings.
Compare your options.

Find the listed pressure rating for each coupling design and size.

These are coupling ratings. The complete system rating depends on the pipe, groove, gasket and other components, as well as temperature and service conditions. We confirm the suitable combination with your quote.

A closer look

A few familiar parts.
One connected system.

The connection is mechanical: the coupling engages the grooves and holds the gasket around the joint. That straightforward design supports practical installation and future servicing.

01 / GROOVED ENDS

Bring the fittings together

Prepared grooves give the coupling a place to engage at each end of the connection.

02 / GASKET & COUPLING

Fit the connection

The gasket surrounds the joint, while the coupling housing fits around it and engages the grooves.

03 / BOLTED ASSEMBLY

Secure the joint

Bolts and nuts secure the coupling. Use the fitting and coupling manufacturer’s assembly requirements for the specific products.

Talk through your options ↗
Can I buy couplings and fittings separately?

Yes. We sell couplings and grooved fittings individually for system additions, expansions and replacements. You do not need to purchase a complete system. Share the part type, size and application so we can help match your existing system. Ask about individual parts ↗

Is there a difference between red, black and galvanized couplings?

For the same coupling model and gasket, red and black are finish choices, with the same specified pressure performance. Galvanized couplings add a protective zinc finish for enhanced corrosion resistance, making them a useful option for damp or more demanding environments. We help select the finish for the actual exposure, including any chemicals or washdown conditions.

What are the pressure ratings for your single-bolt quick-fit couplings?

Our listed single-bolt quick-fit coupling ratings are 450 psi for 1, 1-1/4 and 1-1/2 inch; and 365 psi for 2, 2-1/2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 inch.

These figures apply to the couplings, rather than the complete piping system. We confirm the pipe, groove, gasket, temperature and service conditions with your quote. Compare single-bolt and two-bolt ratings ↗

What are the pressure ratings for your two-bolt quick-fit couplings?

Our listed two-bolt quick-fit coupling ratings are 700 psi for 1-1/4, 1-1/2 and 2 inch; 600 psi for 2-1/2 and 3 inch; 500 psi for 4 inch; 450 psi for 6 inch; and 300 psi for 8 inch.

These figures apply to the couplings, rather than the complete piping system. We confirm the pipe, groove, gasket, temperature and service conditions with your quote. See the coupling size and pressure table ↗

What is the difference between a one-bolt and two-bolt coupling?

Our listed single-bolt and two-bolt quick-fit coupling ratings differ by size and design. Use the rating for the specific coupling and nominal size; we confirm the pipe, groove, gasket and service conditions with your quote.

We choose the coupling around the pipe weight, required joint rigidity and how the system is hung and supported. Single-bolt couplings are often a practical choice for standard aluminum air systems. For heavier pipe, we use suitable two-bolt couplings to provide added joint support, with the hanger arrangement matched to the pipe weight and installation. Joint rigidity depends on the coupling design, rather than bolt count alone.

Do push-on couplings need to be taken apart before assembly?

Our push-on grooved coupling options are designed to go onto prepared grooved pipe or fitting ends without dismantling the coupling housing first. Once positioned, the hardware is tightened to secure the joint. This keeps the parts together and simplifies assembly. Follow the specific product’s requirements for pipe preparation, gasket lubrication, positioning and tightening.
